U1.4.3 METHODS OF ITERATION

Over the past few weeks, my exploration has evolved from simply experimenting with the properties of acrylic gouache to utilizing its unique characteristics for more structured data visualization. Initially, I focused on understanding the medium’s unpredictable diffusion and transparency. However, this week, I pushed the boundaries by combining the organic qualities of the paint with a more logical grid system, creating a tension between control and spontaneity. By layering data on precipitation, temperature, and humidity, I aimed to challenge traditional data visualization methods, questioning whether precise, quantitative information can truly benefit from a medium that thrives on unpredictability. This shift not only blurs the line between logic and aesthetics but also raises the unpredictable use possibilities of a limited medium.
