I reinterpreted Schiller’s eight portraits by collaging and reassembling illustrations to create new backgrounds. Characters from the original are redrawn and combined in the same frame to build a scene with interaction and events. I chose to place Schiller’s self-portrait and big-head portrait in the spectator position, while placing the other figures in the center and foreground, highlighting their roles as protagonists.
